GNHCT as it is known was founded in England in 2000 by Annette Montague-Thomas, a registered medical herbalist, whose love of Africa and her conviction that she could help and make a difference on the devastating effect of HIV/AIDS to its people, caused her to form The Global Natural Healthcare Trust.
GNHCT works on the principle that although there is no known cure for HIV/AIDS, life expectancy can be greatly increased by the treatment of medical herbalism, and that by strengthening the bodily systems the patient becomes stronger to fight off opportunistic infections. The treatment address's the two main problems with the HIV/AIDS virus. One is the ( VL) viral load, which is a blood test reading that shows how much virus there is in the blood, and this we are able to get down quite quickly. And secondly is the C.D.4. Count, which is another blood test reading, that shows how weak or how strong the immune system is. With medical herbs we can build up the C.D.4. Count quite quickly.
Obviously with this type of holistic medical help which GNHCT administer for FREE the patient has a far greater chance of arresting the development of this dreadful disease.
GNHCT treats adults and children at the Orange Farm Holistic Treatment Centre, this settlement is home to several million Africans of varying tribes living in very impoverished circumstances. South Africa is still counted as the worst hit country in the world for HIV/AIDS.
One of the problems facing GNHCT, is that with parents dying of AIDS the children are often left abandoned and living on the streets, Some children were so traumatized, weak and desperately in need of medical care and attention that GNHCT set up a small orphanage. This quickly became too small for the amount of children that needed homes, and so we then set up a Foster Care System which now houses thousands of orphans.
In addressing and partially solving the problem of these destitute children, another problem started to surface. The foster mothers could cope with several children, but did not have enough time to give extra care to the babies and toddlers that so badly needed it. Babies were being abandoned and toddlers left wandering the streets once parents had died, sometimes a neighbor or one of our care workers got to the scene and offered assistance but this was a hit and miss solution to the problem.
To address this problem a building is being restored on a 120acre plot of rented GNHCT land.
The Cornish Cuddle Centre, a special orphanage for babies and toddlers together with a new and much larger treatment center will open soon with the first admission of 55 babies and toddlers many of which will inevitably be suffering from the HIV/AIDS virus.
GNHCT embraces an Integrated Medical approach.
Medical Herbalist Annette Montague-Thomas, the founder of GNHCT treats patients holistically with medical herbs which are both safe and organic.
GNHCT has been providing treatment on the Orange Farm Settlement since long before Antiretrovirals were permitted in South Africa. We embrace an Integrated Medicine approach.
The herbal treatments, which are provided free of charge, work by strengthening the bodily systems. The otherwise prescribed medicaments, known as Antiretrovirals, are only available to nonpaying patients who have a CD4 count of 200 and below. Many are still waiting.
We have helped many people who had no hope and we are committed to helping many more people who suffer unnecessarily in South Africa.
Don't let more people die.
